Sometimes even a small amount is enough to take a big burden off your shoulders.
Recently, we learned about a single mother in Leichlingen who didn’t know how to get through the day financially. Unfortunately, we couldn’t help her at that moment – and that’s exactly what we don’t want to happen to us again.
That’s why we created the emergency fund for Leichlingen .
The emergency fund is a donation pot from which we support people in our city who are in acute need through no fault of their own. Our goal is to help quickly, unbureaucratically and where help is needed most urgently.
✨ How we help
We want to support people in difficult life situations quickly and easily.
Some important principles apply to us:
- We don’t give away cash, but go shopping together or get the bare necessities – for example, food, hygiene articles, baby food, school supplies or other urgently needed things.
- The help is provided as quickly, directly and unbureaucratically as possible, because in an acute emergency situation every day often counts.
- At the same time, we carefully review every request so that we can handle the donations entrusted to us responsibly.
- It is important to us that people in need are not forced to go hungry or have to make their most intimate concerns public in order to receive help. Every person deserves respectful and dignified treatment.
- If desired, we advise and accompany those affected beyond the acute help. There are often other support services or social benefits that can help to improve the situation in the long term.

Every donated euro should go where it is needed.
That is why we document all income and expenditure of the nest egg transparently and comprehensibly.
