Eid – A Celebration of Breaking the Fast and Cultural Diversity

Breaking the fast is an important part of the Islamic calendar and has a long tradition. During the fasting month of Ramadan, devout Muslims abstain from food, drink and any form of worldly pleasure from sunrise to sunset. Ramadan is a month of reflection and purification of the soul. It is about reflecting on what is essential in life and feeling closer to God.

The breaking of the fast marks the end of this period and is celebrated by Muslims around the world. It is a celebration of joy, gratitude and fellowship. During the festival, family and friends gather to eat, drink and celebrate together. Traditional food is prepared and sweets are distributed.

However, breaking the fast is not just a celebration for Muslims, but an occasion for all people, regardless of their religious affiliation, to celebrate with each other and get to know each other. It is a celebration of diversity, tolerance and respect for different cultures and traditions.

The International Breakfast on 04/22/2023 in Leichlingen is a wonderful opportunity for all people, regardless of their religious affiliation, to celebrate and eat together. It is an event that helps to build bridges between people and break down prejudices. It is a sign of the openness and tolerance of our society.
