The “Cooking Together” project has already brought many people together in Leichlingen and it continues. It’s a great way to learn about new dishes and expand culinary skills. But it’s also more than that. It’s about bringing people from different cultures together to create community and friendship.
At the last joint cooking, which took place on 19.04, Bulgaria was the focus. The group prepared a delicious meal consisting of a cold cucumber soup, a mixed salad, baniza in a flash (stuffed puff pastry with eggs and feta cheese) and stuffed peppers with rice and minced meat. The dessert was a homemade Easter cake from dear Larysa. It was a culinary delight!
While cooking together, many interesting conversations were held about the culture and life. It was amazing to see how food and cooking can help bring people closer together.
The project “Cooking Together” is open to everyone, regardless of migration background or cooking experience. It’s a great way to make new friends and take culinary trips around the world together. However, registration is required to plan for the number of participants.
In summary, the “Cooking Together” project not only contributes to integration, but also provides an opportunity to build community and gain new culinary experiences. It shows that food and cooking are more than just a way to satisfy hunger. It’s a way to make friends and build a connection between people who might not have otherwise come in contact.
